When in Rome…

Posted by Dawn on October 26, 2010 in Cool Technology, News & Updates, Opinion |

Adobe announced Project Rome yesterday.

Project Rome can be run as either web based or as a desktop application for Mac or Windows. Project Rome is an “all in one content creation and publishing” tool. For a limited time, it is available as a free preview.

What I find particularly interesting is the fact that the application can be web based or installed locally. When installed locally, the application has a very small footprint, just over 10MB vs. Pages, which is probably its closest similar app, at just under 300MB. With the announcement of Apple’s new MacBook Air and its solid state storage, I believe you will see an explosion of these small footprint apps take off.

I’m going to look into getting the school in on a pilot program to see what more Adobe might offer a pilot school as I love the look and feel of the application itself and it is FAST!
