Hi! Welcome to the Warren School P4 web page!
Julie and I are so pleased to be getting to know your children. Our days look like this:
8:00-8:55 Work time: Your child will take care of his/her own morning routine and will get started in a favorite area of the room.
8:55-9:05 Pick up time: We put all the toys away and make the room ready for other activities.
9:05-9:15 Morning Meeting and jobs: We sing a good morning song, take attendance, and take care of classroom jobs (ask your child what his/her job was each day!
9:15-9:30 Snack: thanks to all of your wonderful, healthy snacks, the P4 children are well-fed!
9:30-10:00 Specials
Mondays: art: Heather O’Hare works with our class each week, introducing materials and processes that we often continue to use in the classroom.
Tuesdays: music. Mrs. Adams introduces songs and music games. We’ll participate in two concerts this year.
Wednesdays: gym. Mrs. Clark works on many sports and fitness skills. Please send your child to school in sneakers on Wednesdays!
Thursdays: library. Ellen sings, reads and helps the children choose a book to take home. Please help your child remember to bring last week’s book back!
Fridays: nothing for now, but just wait until February!!
10:00-10:30 Meeting: We sing, read a story, discuss and work to resolve problems. We often plan for an upcoming activity.
10:30-11:00: Outside time: This is a supervised time on the Preschool playground, during which children run, skip, jump, gallop, cooperate, use sand and water, climb, swing and enjoy fresh air. Games may be introduced to support indoor learning, as well.
